The Freeland Police Department is currently seeking applications for the positions of Full-Time and Part-Time Police Officers. Full-time applications will be subject to applicable regulations established by the Freeland Borough Civil Service Commission. Freeland Borough serves a community of approximately 4,000 residents in an area just under one square mile.
ALL applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Be a United State Citizen
- Must hold PA Act 120 Certification or be currently enrolled in training
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a valid PA Driver's license
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Be physically and mentally fit ro perform all duties, as per PSP MPOETC regulations
- Must submit to a complete background investigation
Current pay for a non-probationary, full-time patrolman is $51,812.80. Newly hired officers are paid less during their one-year probationary period with an increase in pay after the first year of employment and successful evaluation at the end of the probationary period. Other benefits are also included per current contract. The current bargaining contract expires on 12/31/2022. Part-time rates are determined by the employer based upon training, experience, and tenure in the law enforcement field.
